Early Evening Jazz: Hyde / Hannigan / Carpel

Drummer Chresten Hyde, guitarist Toivo Hannigan, and bassist Dan Carpel perform a mix of old and new standards, deep cuts, and improvisation. Drawing on a wide variety of influences both inside and outside of jazz, they bring a modern, fresh approach to the guitar trio.

Chresten Hyde is a drummer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter based in Minneapolis. He developed his musical voice while living in Chicago and Los Angeles. He has worked with Caroline Davis, Chicago Afrobeat Project, Ian Duerr, and Kevin Washington & RA Spirit.

Toivo Hannigan is a guitarist, composer, producer, and software engineer based in Minneapolis. After graduating from Berklee in 2020, Hannigan moved back to the Twin Cities, where he furthered his career as a freelance musician. Hannigan regularly performs with acts including Jake Baldwin, JT Bates, Bryan and the Haggards, and Larry Wish.

Dan Carpel is a Twin Cities–based bass player. He performs with a variety of artists, including Javier Santiago, Zacc Harris, and Omar Abdulkarim.
